Sunday, Sunday...you weren't very "sunny" today. This morning I got up and around to enjoy a phenomenal sermon (as usual) at church. Luckily, I got to see my best girl-friend and share birthday wishes with her (and the pink-daisy, day-by-day women's Bible we had seen last time we went to the local bookstore together).
After church, we rode together to the nearest b-double-dubs for our favorite wings. Ironically enough, the place wasn't crowded but it was slower service than normal. I didn't mind it so much though. It gave us a little more time to talk.
We drove out to the house immediately after lunch in order to see the latest updates. After admiring my new chandeliers (still in the box, currently) and the installed archways, we started to walk out to the car to head out.
*Insert loud, obnoxiously, scary siren noise (while the sun was shining) here*
As Miss Adele started to walk to her car I told her that I guess we had to go back inside. Hellloooo, the tornado sirens are going off. (She thought it was the 12o'clock whistle...it isn't Saturday, silly). Therefore, we ran inside and turned on the television. It was perfectly sunny out!
Then, the storm hit.
I tell you what, I don't think I have ever seen so much cottonwood blowing in the wind. It literally filled the sky with white puff-balls to where it looked like we were in the middle of a blizzard. Soon after, the hail hit. Tiny ice chips turned into coin-sized balls...then the balls got bigger...and bigger. The trees started to crack in the distance and the sky turned black.
We turned up the t.v. and waited it out. Luckily, the heart of the storm passed over us, and we made it out without so much as a scratch on us (or the vehicles).
Days like this I realize how truly blessed I am. God is so good. I pray for all of those that lost a part of themselves (or even their very life) in these storms. Thank you, Lord for taking care of me and my family...
